How to start with website design?
When I was faced with a challenge to create a website from scratch I tried not to get overwhelmed and do it step by step. Wordpress is a great way to start and it is beginner friendly. There is multiple videos about it. Here are my two favourite ones. I have chosen a theme builder Themify because I wanted more opportunities for edits.

Website design – colours and font
When starting a website at first you need to imaging what you want it to look like. You always want to choose simple font which is readable. Font size is really important as well, especially in this modern world when everyone uses smartphone you need to think about the smaller screens. Don’t forget to use headings and subheading which will help with SEO. A great SEO tool in Wordpress is Yoast, here is one of their articles

Website development
After you choose all of the colours and fonts you want to use, the most important and hardest part is to get this website functional. You do not need to be an expert but you need to have an understanding of how websites work and what you want your website to do. If you are creating your website for your personal brand start with simple pages like “about me” or “contact”. Don’t use too many functions at once, start simple. If you want to create blog and articles, great! Start with writing and adjust design after. Remember to add high quality photos and videos. Make sure that you are testing everything you put on your website from buttons to links. It is great to do research about similar websites first and build yours after. It will take time but with patience and consistency you will get there!
